Challenge
This project’s goal is to create a booklet and a 3D structure that represents a chosen architect. The main challenge given within this two part project was to be able to create a box that held both a booklet and a usb. From these instructions, this minimalistic booklet was designed to accentuate Hadid’s style.
Zaha Hadid is an architect who’s style is very organic futuristic, modern and innovative. Hadid was one of the most spectacular architects. Each of her projects transformed 21st century architecture. Her designs were created with optimism for the future and belief in the power of invention with advanced design, material and construction innovations. Design Approach
For the booklet, it was essential to make sure that Hadid’s style was emphasized by creating a consistent contemporary look highlighting some iconic buildings she designed. The booklet’s shape which was located on the cover and on each chapter divider was inspired by her building called “The Opus”.
In each chapter, one specific building was showcased along with a little bit of background information, its specs and some images of interior and exterior details of the building. As for the binding, a chicago screw suited perfectly with Hadid’s industrial yet modern look.
Result
This booklet represents zaha hadid’s legacy and architectural style by its simplicity and emphasis on the unusual organic shapes.
